Richards Layton Elects Rudolf Koch and Blake Rohrbacher as Directors and Todd Coomes as Counsel of the Firm

WILMINGTON, Delaware (July 2, 2012) – Richards, Layton & Finger is pleased to announce the election of Rudolf (Rudy) Koch and Blake Rohrbacher as directors of the firm and Todd Coomes as counsel, effective July 1, 2012.

Rudy Koch has substantial experience litigating complex corporate and commercial disputes in Delaware’s state and federal courts. His practice focuses on stockholder class actions, derivative lawsuits, contested mergers and acquisitions, contractual disputes, appraisal actions and other statutory proceedings. He also advises general partners, corporate boards and committees with respect to governance, litigation, internal investigations and control disputes. Rudy received a B.S. from Cornell University and a J.D., magna cum laude, from Cornell Law School, where he was lead symposium editor of the Cornell Law Review. He served as a law clerk for the Honorable Maryanne Trump Barry, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.

Blake Rohrbacher focuses his practice on litigation as well as advisory and transactional matters relating to Delaware corporations and alternative entities. He litigates corporate governance, M&A, fiduciary, statutory and contractual disputes in the Delaware courts, and advises corporate boards and board committees regarding governance, fiduciary duties, and mergers and acquisitions. He also has particular expertise in Delaware law regarding nonprofit and nonstock corporations. Blake received a B.A. from Yale University and a J.D. from Yale Law School, where he was executive editor of The Yale Law Journal. He served as a law clerk to the Honorable Thomas L. Ambro, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.

Todd Coomes concentrates his practice on litigation and regulatory matters involving environmental, energy and utility interests. He also represents clients in business transactions and litigation relating to the purchase, sale or operations of industrial and other facilities. Todd counsels clients on compliance issues arising under federal and state environmental laws, and has represented clients in enforcement actions asserted by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and state environmental agencies. Todd received a B.S. from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a J.D., cum laude, from Tulane Law School.
