Richards, Layton & Finger Director Elected a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation

WILMINGTON, Delaware (April 16, 2010) – Robert J. Krapf, a director of Richards, Layton & Finger, has been elected a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation, the nation’s leading research institute for the empirical study of law. The Fellows of the American Bar Foundation consists of lawyers, judges, law faculty and legal scholars who have been nominated by their peers because of their outstanding dedication to the welfare of their communities and to the highest principles of the legal profession. Membership in the Fellows is limited to the top one-third of one percent of all legal practitioners in America.

Krapf focuses his practice on transactional matters in the areas of real estate and land use law. His clients include many of the regional and national developers, landlords, banks and other lenders, conservation organizations, institutions, businesses and industries operating in Delaware.

An active member of the local and national bar, Krapf has held many leadership positions in his field, including current president of the American College of Mortgage Attorneys and chair emeritus of the Real Estate Practice Group of Lex Mundi, an international association of law firms. He is a frequent speaker on topics of real estate, land use and business law, and has published educational materials and articles about real estate law and land use regulation.

Krapf is recognized in the International Who’s Who of Business Lawyers, Chambers USA, The Best Lawyers in America and Delaware Super Lawyers. He was voted one of the “Best Lawyers in Delaware” in Delaware Today magazine. Krapf earned a J.D., cum laude, from Widener University School of Law, an M.A. from the University of Delaware, and a B.S.F.S. from Georgetown University.
